Job description


OUR CLIENT

Our client is a world leader in integrated energy and chemicals. Offices in Asia support a wide range of activities from facilitating the safe and reliable delivery of energy.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

  • Perform all managerial functions common to the Unit level, as established by management.
  • Provide advice and counsel to the Company businesses in particular Chemical and Procurement management in China concerning accounting, financial, communications policies and matters. Keep Management aware of potential tax and other financial effects.
  • Ensure effective budget and budgetary control systems by directing the coordination and consolidation of annual budgets, programs, Business Plans and Accountability Reports.
  • Participate, as a consultant, in the development of new/revised Industrial Relations policies, programs and procedures. Guide the implementation and monitor effectiveness of such policies and programs and recommend/approve modifications as required.
  • Ensure the origination and maintenance of the Company’s accounting records and the preparation and issuance of accounting reports.
  • Direct and implement finance-related internal control systems to assure adequate protection of corporate assets and to identify potential points of weakness.
  • Handle personally highly confidential payroll and other matters requiring utmost discretion and tact.
  • Remain informed regarding financial and economic developments in ABS area of operation, the effectiveness of employee relations policies and programs.
  • Maintain public relations contacts with government, representatives of other companies and other groups and individuals.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or closely related field. Master's degree or CPA/other international accounting professional certification highly desirable
  • Minimum of twelve (12) years of diversified experience in financial accounting, corporate tax, auditing, and cost accounting in the petroleum industry, including 5 years managerial position experience with extensive coverage of finance operations, 3-year or more big-four experience is a plus
  • Excellent command of oral and written English
  • Thoroughly familiar with: China and the region corporate tax laws; compensation and accounting policies, procedures and practices, as well as their background and internal application; China’s accounting system, and Saudi Aramco's oil and gas operations.
  • Must display tact and objectivity in dealing with management and lower levels of organizations and in supervising highly skilled professional employees
  • Incumbent must be a recognized professional expert
  • Collaborative mindset - must be able to convince others to achieve results, and provides timely reporting of activities
  • Ability to interact with multiple levels of functions, management and customers.
