Job Description

Position: Key Account Manager

Report to: Strategic Global Account Manager

Location: Shanghai

Job Overview:

- Take responsibility of all Japanese Accounts business in Great China, especially Unicharm, KAO, Daio and Pigeon

- Key position within the China Global Non-Woven Team

- Proactively manage an opportunity pipeline, closing all possible opportunities to achieve a Gross Profit result in line with annual targets

- Provide detailed information and reports to the superior and the organization as and when required

- Carry out analysis and produce reports on a weekly and as when required basis

- Daily liaison with other members of the team to provide information and ensure that customers receive excellent service

- Advising on the changes and trends in the marketplace and the activities of competitors

- To undertake tasks and projects as agreed that are within jobholder’s experience, skills and capabilities

- Participate on a team which determines regional activity including allocation of technical resources & actions from all other regional process, need to coordinates all related groups (Customer & Suppliers; Internal each division, etc)

- Need to communicate frequently with Japanese counterpart

- Role likely leads to future regional responsibility or country level responsibility


- Sales performance of the customers in China

- Responsibility for involvement in strategy development, execution of developed tactics to support long term success (short/long term initiatives)

- New product penetration in China to support the marketing strategy

- Maintaining profitability of the business

- Financial analysis and resulting business proposals

- Ensuring satisfactory resolution related to Quality Assurance with the customer


- Degree essential with a Business related subject preferable

- Technical background is welcome

- Trilingual skills of Japanese/English/Chinese

- International Sales experience with Major Industry customers advantageous

- Strong international mindset

- Strong negotiation skills

- Creative problem solving and project management skills

- Strategic planning capability essential

- Highly organized with effective prioritization of competing commitments and project deadlines

- Willing to travel
