Main purpose of the position
This position is the regional Leader for the service department responsible for servicing of products in the field.
Manage the field service operations while ensuring the profitability of the service business.
Manages field personnel. the direction and escalation of service activities and priorities, empowering independent decision making with the service engineers.
Responsible for achieving regional metrics. including financial performance.
Responsible for overseeing training plans for service personnel and mentoring of service engineers.
Responsible for contract sales within region.
Act as the customer interface for difficult issues.
Quickly evaluates and escalates potential issues appropriately for resolution.
Ability to work on complex learning and development problems as well as teach highly technical information and interface with people at all levels.
Prepare and ensure team budgets and training objectives are set. communicated and achieved.
Experience with CRM systems, ensuring timely and accurate delivery and recording of service reports and travel expenses from the field.
Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills.
Bachelor's Degree, Physics or Engineering, or equivalent.
5 years management experience.
Experienced service manager of complex systems, electron microscopes, semiconductor equipment, medical or other similar scientific instrumentation.
Must be able to communicate transparently and clearly both within region and with headquarters.
Must be able to think independently, solve difficult problems, and achieve goals.
Experience managing a P&L contract sale.
Proficient in MS Office, PowerPoint and presenting to executive management.
