Position: Sales Manager, South China, Personal & Home Care

Report to: BU Sales Director, China

Subordinates: 3-4

Location: Guangzhou

Other Working Relationships: Sales organization, Finance team, Supply Chain team and Logistic Team, Customers, Suppliers, Industry association,

  1. Job Summary
  • The position is to focus on Personal Care and Home Care Sales development in both volume & margin. This function is responsible for realization of sales target, sales operation, support market development, sales team development, customer & supplier relationship, monitoring competitions & industry trend for Personal Care and Home Care business in responsible areas.

  1. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop & implement mid and long term PHC sales strategy in territories for achieving a sustainable profitable business growth in safe and ethical manner.
  • Establish & meet annual sales budget/objectives, and lead the team to achieve sales growth, cost control and other key matrixes across products and segments.
  • Work closely with Application Development team to ensure the market intelligence (eg. Market trend, opportunities) & competitors’ information (eg. Benchmarking, merge & acquisitions) is feed, and also to ensure AD projects implementation and follow ups.
  • Demonstrate Customer Ownership: manage sales channels; build up & implement Customer relationship management & Customer power map; work on customer segmentations & new customer identification.
  • Put efforts and contribute to the working capital: inventory control, demand forecast and account receivable
  • Manage key Suppliers and products, strengthen relationship with local managers of key suppliers
  • Lead and develop a sustainable and professional Sales team in area through coaching & developing people and create a health culture for high performance.
  • Ensure smooth sales transactions, provide technical services, coordinate customer complain, etc.

  1. Essential Skills/Traits/Competencies
  • Minimum Bachelor Degree in Fine Chemicals or Chemistry related disciplines
  • 5-7 years above related sales experience in personal care field (Skin care or colour cosmetics preference)
  • Minimum 3 years managerial experience and experienced leading a sales team
  • Solid knowledge on personal & home care ingredients for different segments
  • Solid track record in business development
  • Experience in foreign MNCs, JV or personal & home care distributor will be added advantage
  • Good computer knowledge
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Fluent in both spoken and written Chinese and English
  • Able to travel > 50% within Southern China
