Job description


Our client is a fast-growing and visionary technology company that develops reliable network solutions that enable devices to connect, communicate, and collaborate.
They are currently seeking a senior leader to establish a new R&D organization that did not exist before.
The position holder will manage the corporate R&D organization, which is to be filled in Taipei headquarter and will report to the CTO of the group.
He/she will expand the organization internationally, especially in Germany and US, define technology building blocks from product road maps and product specifications based on best utilization and will support the use of building blocks and platforms within the organizations.

The team size will start from around 20 to grow to 200 and more over the next years.

Success in a first place will lead to additional confidence and trust so more and more topics can be transferred to this organization.
On top, the organization will also see a natural growth by hiring additional talents and running international organizations, bundle and manage the R&D partnership programs and act as a catalyst for demonstrating new and flexible working styles, paired with structured methodologies and focus on engineering excellence.

Major responsibilities may include:

Ÿ Manage the new corporate R&D organization.

Ÿ Define and work on budgets including hiring plan.

Ÿ Ensure timely delivery of defined technology deliverables to the organizations at the required quality level.

Ÿ Meet commitments made.

Ÿ Use synergies within the corporate R&D organization to best leverage talents.

Ÿ Organize the organization according to needs and best practice. Introduce a working culture and environment to best use the talents.

Ÿ Work with CTO and business development but also talents in R&D on forward looking and strategic topics to ensure technology leadership.

Ÿ Make the corporate R&D organization engine within the company.

Desired Profiles

  • Master of Science (or above) in Engineering-related subjects from Western University.
  • Speaks fluent/native English and Chinese.
  • 12+ combined years of working experience;

Worked in mid-size international or MNC companies as an R&D senior leader.

  • Has worked in international start-ups.
  • Hands on experience in software methodologies and has managed such.
  • Has successfully managed R&D projects also in difficult circumstances.
  • Management style should be leading by example and match the nature and purpose of the organization.
