Job description


Our client is committed to become a global leader in the discovery, development, and commercialization of innovative, molecularly-targeted, and immuno-oncology drugs for the treatment of cancer.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design and construct novel bispecific antibodies and related molecules with the combination of molecular modeling tools and in-depth understanding of the target biology
  • Express, purify and biophysical characterize these molecules
  • Design and implement functional and cell-based assays to support antibody engineering efforts
  • Present data at group and inter-departmental meetings with scientific rigor
  • Oversee daily operations of a small group of scientists, including sequence and structure-based analysis and modeling, sequence optimization, affinity maturation, humanization, multiple specific antibody design, generation and characterization
  • Identify and implement new technologies/platforms to improve the quality and speed of antibody engineering process to meet department and company goals
  • Develop novel technologies/platforms including multispecifc platforms;
  • Build strong working relationships with fellow BeiGene colleagues, key external advisors and collaborators.

Qualifications include:

  • PhD in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology/Structural Biology or related; disciplines with at least 3-5 years post-doctoral or industrial experience
  • Experience in protein/Ab engineering, structural biology and bispecific antibody design and engineering with a proven track record of innovative solutions;
  • Broad knowledge in a variety of protein engineering platforms and technologies;
  • Broad knowledge in disease biology and strong background in immunology, T cell biology and cancer biology;
  • Experience in T cell assay development, including isolation of T cells from whole blood, T cell activation and cytokine profiling assays, T cell transduction, co-culture assays, T cell cytotoxicity assays, and cell proliferation assays;
  • Knowledge in development of in vivo mouse models and subsequent analysis, including but not limited to tumor phenotyping is a plus;
  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills and effective presentation of complex scientific data to cross-functional and senior management teams are critical for this role.
