Job Title: Operations & Marketing Manager

Direct Line: General Manager

Location: Central China

Job Description

Purpose of the Role

The position is accountable for the safety, compliance, operations, and marketing of the retail network.The primary objectives of the role is to inspire and lead their team to deliver safe and profitable retail operations; to drive excellence in marketing and sales performance, and to develop capability for the future.

The role will also be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of the wider business strategy, including Network investment decision making; transferring practices; and role modeling leadership behaviors.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Management of the retail operations and marketing team to deliver a compelling customer offer, as well as the HSSEQ, Ethics & Compliance, financial, operational and people key performance metrics for the business
  • Leverage and develop strong internal and external relationships with local government, suppliers and customers to ensure execution of the retail strategy, and delivery of annual plans
  • Actively engage in the development and delivery of the broader Retail Regional-Central agenda
  • Safe and reliable site operations across the network, ensuring compliance with process and procedures
  • Legally compliant retail operations adhering to the code of conduct, and full transparency around any breaches or concerns
  • People leadership of On-site and corporate staff including effective capability development
  • Ensure retail policies, tools, and best in class operating practices are in place across CO model of operations
  • Implement Marketing strategies, and develop local marketing programs
  • Drive culture of continuous improvement within Operations & Marketing
    • Develop and Deliver On site efficiency, customer satisfaction, and reward programs
    • Optimise margin via developing pricing strategies that rely on strong use of analytics and customer focus
  • Manage convenience trading, marketing and supply chain operations including category management and buying, warehouse and logistics, analysis and promotions, space planning, customer offers and portfolio management of stores
  • In year delivery of performance targets, including HSSE, Ethics & Compliance, financial, people, customer/brand
  • Embedded and Understood policies and procedures across all areas of the business
  • Develop culture of customer excellence, cash delivery, compliance, and zero harm

Experience (years and nature)

  • University Degree; Qualified in Business or related discipline
  • 5+ years in managerial positions;
  • Sound knowledge of retail business or customer facing operations
  • Sound knowledge of marketing practices, including loyalty programs & sales promotions
  • Experience in identifying and managing HSSEQ and/or Ethics & Compliance risk
  • Impactful communicator and influencer who respects and proactively seeks diverse opinions
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Skillful in balancing financial performance and risk management behaviors
  • Demonstrates courage in constructively raising difficult issues to uphold high ethical and safety standards
  • Facilitates effective teamwork and builds collaborative relationships across internal and external boundaries
